Bloody Good

My Personal/Category Thoughts

The ever so popular Castlevania with it's classic songs. Always lovin to hear them. The percussion beat worked very good with the speed of the tempo. The electrical instruments chosen for this song were also good. The quality was okay, but seemed fuzzy on some of the drum beats. The leads had a good sound to the song. You gave great efforts knowing how long the song was and the beats used for the song.

Thanks. The guys for the old weekly Sunday webcomic strips here on NG seem to like it, too.

Thanks for your review.

Sound like F-Zero G.X.

My Personal/Category Thoughts

The double bass was nice, can never have too much bass. The quality of the song seemed a bit low to what I was hoping. Sounded like a song from F-Zero G.X. like one of the blazing fire levels. It had a nice upbeat and a fast tempo which sounded great for it. Seemed a bit repetative, but all and all the beat was good. Nice tone chosen. Was not to fond of the choice of percussion. Seemed diverse to most songs. I'm you gave high efforts on this song.

paradiddlesjosh responds:

Thanks. My brother writes all the guitar riffs and such on my original work, so I suppose he deserves credit for this one.

The thing I didn't like about this particular mix is that we put too much reverb on it. Truth be told, I never played any of the F-Zero games, though I've heard they're good.

Thanks for your review.

This does ROX

My Personal/Category Thoughts

Love this classic. The quality of this song wasn't bad, but it didn't really give much of an edge. I just don't think the electrical instruments went well with the song. You gave good efforts with the percussion and bass backround which I liked. At the end, the song was great how you configured 2 together at one point. The tempo started moderated, slowed down, and then sped up which gave the song that extra oomph.

paradiddlesjosh responds:

Thank you. This mix is the LAST one I'll be using those "guitars" on. I swear it.

Thanks for your review.

Overmade Remake

My Personal/Category Thoughts

The percussion and bass effect always seem to get me into your songs, even though I'm sicker than hell of this song. I guess I played a little too much melee a couple years back. Sounded a bit like pokemon emerald games at times. The quality was great on this song, loved it. Always trying your hardest to make greats songs I can see. The flute part was great. Great fast, yet steady tempo mixed with a good tone.

paradiddlesjosh responds:

Thanks. The flute's actually an ocarina, but I'll let it slide since an ocarina is, in fact, a Japanese flute.

Yes, I do try very hard on these mixes of mine, whether it be I stay up all night working on it, spend six and a half hours getting a certain sample to sound right, or bashing my computer tower in the side with my foot when the CPU forces FLStudio to close. It's very demanding work.

Thanks for your review.

Very Underated

My Personal/Category Thoughts

The bass effect on the beggining of this song was great. Also the add ons to this song were great. This is so underated from what I'm hearing right now. The quality is great on this song. A good steady fast tempo. Even though this isn't original or diverse since there are many copies of this song, yours is the most unique from what I've heard, so I've got to give it a higher mark. Percussion set was probably my favorite part of the song, it gave the subwoofers something to do.

paradiddlesjosh responds:

Thanks. I haven't really heard other people's versions of most; mostly 'cause I'm too lazy. I have actually heard a couple of would-be OCRemixes of it, though, and I never understood why they weren't accpeted... until I read the judge's decisions.

Thanks for your review.

Great Rythm

My Personal/Category Thoughts

A remake of the ever so popular Over the Rainbow. I never really liked the song, although it did have a nice ring to it. The way you sped up the tempo and added to it was great. The opening was on the song and how the leads were added afterwords. The quality like always was good and crisp, high standards. I can't say this song is original since I've heard Salad Fingers sing this and that anoying girl from the wizard of oz, but yours is the best I've heard yet. Also you gave great efforts on how fast the song was, must have taken a while to make.

DJ-STump responds:

the rythm yes and the tune to get it just right and u can still hear the two note i played wrong but otherwise this song was made quite fast :D thx for the review and plz let me no if u need to ask or have eny mores reviews for other songs

Sure, Yeah... Rock on

My Personal/Category Thoughts

This song would work good for a main menu for some type of fps or fighting arcade game. The bass drums was a bit too much hurting my ears a bit. The higher leads part probably the best part of this short custom song. The quality seemed poor. I guess I'll try the game this is on, too bad it isn't released XD. The song seemed original through my ears. Different from most general/modern rock, but the same sounding as late 80's and early 90's rock.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

haha, yeah, thats the era I was raised in. Good ear. And yeah the quality is a bit shotty, I was really tweaking my tone to try to get the rhythm to stand out more. On my speakers it sounded alright, but when I listen to it at work, it sounded like shit. But my speakers at home are way WAY better than my speakers at work. Anyways, thanks for the review.\m/

Love the Title

My Personal/Category Thoughts

I was not so much with the vocals though, especially when I had to really use my ears to find out what you were trying to say. Also the vocals seemed a bit scratchy at times. The percussion mix with the guitar was great. Especially keeping a good up tempo beat made the song ever better. The chorus was great, best part of the whole song. Chorus is what got me into the song the most. The guitar solo after the chorus was orgasmic to my ears, that mix worked perfectly.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

I guess it depends on the speakers, I can hear the vocals almost too loud and yeah, I scratched in a few places..but I plan on redoing this as well now that I finally have a good mic. For the time being...

Thats the original song, for those who don't know who Megadeth is or where this song came from. :D
Thanks for the review and the support.\m/

Don't Get Rid of Entrance

My Personal/Category Thoughts

Wow, the entrance really brought me into the song. The beggining was the best part, even though the whole song worked out good. The higher octave instruments always seem to bring out the best part of the song, even though it needs the bass to help guide it. The quality was a great asset for the song. The ending worked out good showing that the song wasn't a loop. You seemed to give this song good thoughts and efforts and from the best beggining, it showed that this song was different from a lot of other songs I here on newgrounds.

DJ-STump responds:

thx i was about to repost it withou the entrance but i guess ill keep it

I may Think This ROCKS

My Thoughts
Wow, the vocals are great, really helps the leads and deep base out. Gave the song an extra oomph, just something it needs. Wasn't so long, but the beggining vocals brings me a little too much into the song. I noticed you did 4 beats per stanza, which worked out great for the song. Best part of the vocals were the high notes, since it's hard getting the higher octaves.

My Category Thoughts
Quality was great, especially since the vocal add ons were crisp, which is one of the hardest things to do with a song. Very artistic and original since I never heard this song before. There could have been more to it. Seemed a little too short for my taste.

Feral-Fox responds:

Wow Thanks for such a nice long review. I appreciates it greatly. About the length...I run out of ideas too soon somtimes. I will work on my weaknesses in the future :p Thanks again
